one thing I need to say as we get into the holiday one thing I need to say as we get into the holiday season: please please PLEASE make conscious purchases! shop small, gift experiences, use last year’s decorations, give handmade gifts! there are tons of options. the big guys won’t notice what you buy from them, but to small businesses a purchase could mean everything. I posted my gift guide last week, and I do plan to promote holiday sales throughout the next month (for ethical and sustainable brands of course hehe). even though I’ll be a part of the noise you hear around sales, I always like to give my “please enjoy responsibly” disclaimer before we get too crazy lol. I love this time of year, but it can be so wasteful. being more mindful makes gift giving and receiving so much better. christmas doesn’t have to be about crap. let’s make it thoughtful and intentional 🫶🏻 • • #holidayseason #giftgiving #sustainableliving #ecoholiday #christmaspresents #wasteless

things helping me adjust to the daylight savings t things helping me adjust to the daylight savings time change: • morning walks (and evening ones if I make the time) • keeping my phone out of the bedroom • sleepy girl mocktails • wearing orange blue light glasses at night • red light therapy • drinking tea and reading before bed • eating within the first hour of waking up • wearing an eye mask when sleeping how are you doing with the time change?? I kind of like it 🤓 the period I don’t like is the time before daylight savings when it just feels dark all the time. these ugg boots are brand new. I did not thrift th these ugg boots are brand new. I did not thrift them, in fact I even purchased them from….the mall! 🤢 this isn’t something I wanted to do exactly, but there are a few reasons why: - I’ve had my eye on these boots since last fall. I’ve been needing to replace my cheap pair from college but didn’t want to pull the trigger until I found what I really wanted. I searched this entire last year via ebay, poshmark, thrift stores, etc looking for a secondhand pair. EVERYONE was price gouging, trying to sell pairs for $50+ more than the original price. 🙃 I did find one good pair on marketplace, but they were too small so I had to pass. - this year I finally decided to go to the mall to at least try them on to get the right size. at the mall I was able to check out the different styles, and I realized there were differences in the women’s and men’s. the men’s section had a style that had more structure and felt more like a shoe than a slipper. I’m so glad I noticed this! I wouldn’t have been as happy with the other style that I originally had my eye on, and they wouldn’t have lasted as long. - after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to purchase them right there. I left feeling good about my decision and happy that I got something I really wanted. in no way am I trying to encourage you to buy brand new things, especially when it comes to fashion. but this was a purchase that made sense to buy firsthand for me. I was still mindful about my investment and put a lot of thought into finding the right option for me. I’m going to get so much use out of these, and they’ll last me way longer compared to the ones I had looked at in my search. sometimes secondhand isn’t the answer for everything. even though 95% of the time I’m a thrift savvy girl, there are still things I buy new. it’s important to acknowledge that sustainable living isn’t black and white! and just because something is secondhand doesn’t make it a more “sustainable option” either. ☺️ anyone else have a similar story? what was an item you wanted secondhand but ended up buying new anyway? • • #fallboots #fallfashion #uggultramini #uggboots #secondhandfirst #sustainableliving
