These marshmallows are the perfect touch to add to any warm beverage, or to snack on on their own!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 24 marshmallows (depending on size of pan)

Equipment

  • 1 stand mixer with whisk attachment
  • 1 small sauce pan

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot powder can use cornstarch or even flour instead. this is just used to create a non-stick barrier.
  • 3 tbsp gelatin powder I use the Perfect Supplements brand.
  • 1 tbsp marshmallow root powder if you don't have this, you can skip it!
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Line a container or baking pan with parchment paper. Sprinkle with arrowroot powder to help prevent sticking.
  • In your mixing bowl, mix gelatin and 1/2 a cup of water together. Set it aside to let it "bloom".
  • In a pot over the stove, heat the maple syrup, 1/2 a cup of water, and marshmallow root powder until boiling, or until it reaches 235 degrees. Give it a few stirs while heating up to prevent burning.
  • Pour your maple water into the bowl with gelatin bloom. Add in the vanilla extract. Whisk the mixture together on medium speed until fluffy and just before it forms peaks. If it's too stiff it will be a little harder to pour and mold.
  • Pour the mixture into your lined dish and let it sit for 4 hours. Once formed, cut into cubes and add them to your drink of choice! These will last for 3-4 days on the counter in an air-tight container. Feel free to dust them with a little extra arrowroot powder to help prevent sticking.

Notes

You can try making flavored marshmallows by adding a dash of flavoring like peppermint oil or even chocolate syrup.
